Letter from the Chairman

Dear Colleagues:

The BDUG Steering Committee would like to extend our special thanks to our outgoing Steering Committee members. Chairperson, Mark Cashion, led BDUG through a tumultuous time for the participant bank community and made the decision to postpone the Annual Meeting for 2009. Mark's leadership principles allowed the steering committee to achieve the majority of the year's goals. Danny McHale, Treasurer, provided great vision and a grounded view as to BDUG's direction of fiscal accountability. Our sincere thanks again, and the Steering Committee wishes all the best in their future endeavors. We hope to see them at this year's Annual Meeting in Clearwater, Florida.

It is with great pleasure that we announce our new BDUG Steering Committee members, Arnita Harris, The Northern Trust Company and Linda Jagminas of Bank of America. We appreciate their willingness to support the BDUG Steering Committee.

Our Steering Committee roles for 2010 are as follows:
Karen Bouchard - Vice Chair, Linda Jagminas - Treasurer, Anita Higgins - Secretary/Communications, Elizabeth Menzies-Gabb - Industry Liaison, Ed Brands - Exhibitor Relations, Terry Bouthilet - Membership, and Arnita Harris - Meetings and Arrangements.

We recently returned from the 2010 January Steering Committee planning meeting. We are very pleased with the enthusiasm exhibited by the Steering Committee members. The Annual Meeting is scheduled for September 22nd through September 24th, 2010 at the Sand Pearl in Clearwater, Florida. The meeting agenda is well underway with industry topics such as: Corporate Actions Re-engineering, DTCC Technology Update, Class Actions, OCC, Quality Control and Metrics, Risk & Compliance, Securities Lending, Cost Basis Regulations, PBS and updates on P&I. As we finalize the agenda, additional information will be shared with BDUG members and exhibitors. As established in the spring of 2009, BDUG will be sponsoring various webinars and conference calls throughout the year addressing industry events, DTCC updates and informational discussions relating to the regulatory environment.

We look forward to collaborating with the BDUG member body to bring additional benefits to your respective organizations. BDUG membership affords ample opportunities to network with industry colleagues and provides subject matter experts to the ever changing securities industry. We encourage you to utilize the websites at www.bdug.groupsite.com or www.bdug.org for up to date contact information, and industry news. Due to consolidation in our industry and business changes for some of our members, the BDUG committee will be working closely with DTC to solicit participants that are not currently BDUG members to provide the benefits of membership. The Steering Committee will to continue its objective to add value to BDUG membership. Please contact any of the committee members with questions or suggestions you might have. Thank you for your continued support and all the best to you in the coming year!

Kindest Regards,
Todd F. Rhodes
